Does it seem like a radical idea to accept yourself as you are today?
I know it’s not that easy. I understand how hard it is to struggle with that negative voice inside your head. The one that tells you you’ll never be good enough, strong enough, confident enough. That you can’t do it. That you’re too tall, too quiet, too this, not enough that. That you’ll never be the person that you desire to be…
It’s a load of bullsh*t. I promise.
It’s time to challenge that voice. There’s a kinder, more caring way to treat yourself. The way you deserve to be treated!
The next time you feel that negative voice spiraling, try this:
1. Notice it. Feelings of shame, guilt, doubt or unworthiness probably stem from this voice.
2. Separate the voice from you. This voice is not you. Give it a name if that helps.
3. Take away its power. Talk back to it. Tell it to go away. That voice is not your friend.
4. Replace it with kindness. Make a conscious effort to tell yourself nice things. Notice what you’re grateful for.
The more positive examples you can give yourself, more you reinforce to your brain that they’re true. It’s science.
So I’ll ask you again… does it seem like a radical idea to accept yourself as you are today? Your world can be a nicer place to live if you do.
